  1. Other places from my own experience as a Thai person:

Mu ko surin and similan – ko surin is probably the island which offers the greatest coral reefs and fish in Thailand for snorkeling, because most islands have dirty coral because we litter in it. On the other hand koh similan is the best diving spot in all of Thailand (scuba), koh Tao comes close but not enough. Richelieu rock is the number one for scuba divers, it’s amazing.

Royal Thai Air Force museum – this has a whole collection of old Thai aircraft, located beside Don mueang airport, it also has collectibles like foam planes, plane keychains or even plane necklaces for 20 BAHT!!! As a Thai local this still shocked me, the fact that u can get the most real-silver looking necklace for under a dollar. They also have flight simulations open 9 am – 3 pm, u can fly dcs and aerofly fs on it for free.

Khao yai national park – this is 3 hours drive from Bangkok, it offers a great hiking experience with dozens of waterfalls, viewpoints, trekking tours. There are also these really cool resorts that are up in the hills and u can see the nice Mountain View and also cycle around the resort in the mountains. There will also be a new motorway line connecting Bangkok and khao yai, where it will be even quicker drive because it’s on tollways nearly all the way. U can also find some calming things to do in the evening at night, particularly 5 PM onwards, u can spot wild animals at the Nong pakchi wildlife thing, but don’t get close and bring a pair of binoculars, because these animals are wild and dangerous. Only 900 m hike on plains to the viewpoint.
